I've returned from Amherst with another Illustration Master Class complete.
I spent mid-June here:
The entire workshop revolves around attempting a book-cover assignment under the guidance of illustrators and art directors. The student chooses which topic they want to do an illustration for, they draw up some refined concepts, and then the faculty helps to make it better and take the student through the painting stage to the end.
A lot of other things are covered like reference, obtaining models, more effective ways to work out compositions in a rough, etc.
There were several different assignments to choose from. I selected Beauty and the Beast.

... Now that I'm back in Toronto it will be in this show, this Saturday at the Gladstone in Toronto (along with the brown paper drawing)
